Turns out that the whole dream was Otohiko's Secret Test of Character for Nanami. All Just a Dream: Tomoe becoming a nicer dance instructor and confessing his feelings to Nanami.All Girls Want Bad Boys: Tomoe is a prime example.Also Otohiko shows up earlier in the anime than he did in the manga and is shown to have been behind Narukami's appearance and the trouble that occurred on the trip to the beach. To begin with the manga merely implies that he and Mikage are good friends, the anime shows that they are. Adaptation Expansion: That being said, the anime does elaborate on a few things especially where Otohiko is concerned.Compare the first episode to chapters 1 to 3 of the manga.

She saves a strange man (Mikage) from a dog, and after hearing her story, the man offers Nanami his house as a thank you for saving him. Nanami is evicted from her home and ends up on a nearby park bench with no money and no family to turn to.
